A major streaming service began rolling out a “Skip Intro” feature for real life on Wednesday, allowing users to bypass the first 90 seconds of any morning, meeting or conversation.
“We noticed people were already doing this in their heads,” said product lead Nathan Roque. “We just made it a button.”
Early users reported that the feature worked well on small talk and poorly on weddings. Several said they had skipped the introductions at a party and spent the evening not knowing anyone’s name.
The service said it would soon add “Skip Recap,” which removes the part of the day where you explain what happened yesterday.
